Volunteering at the Japanese Garden can be a journey to well-being.
Our Docents are the voice of the garden, sharing historical perspective, cultural significance and symbolism with a sense of purpose and gratitude.
Bonsai volunteers are enlisted to care for our collection, and inform the public on the artistic principles to grow, design and care for Bonsai plants.
Greeters welcome our visitors and share the connection between the Japanese Garden & the Donald C. Tillman Water Reclamation Plant, which provides all reclaimed water for reuse that sustains the garden landscape, and fills our lake.
∗The Japanese Garden welcomed over 26,000 visitors in 2024, supported by over 848 hours of volunteer service.
